Grigorievsky gorge is located 3 km north of Grigorievka village. There is an asphalted road which then turns into an unpaved road along which you can get to the gorge. At the entrance to the gorge there is a checkpoint at which a small entry fee is charged. This is one of the most popular gorges of the northern shore of Issyk-Kul. There are many mixed forests of mostly Tien Shan coniferous trees. Here flows a powerful and beautiful river Chon Ak-Suu. In the middle part of the gorge there are several beautiful lakes, two of which are popular among the tourists. The gorge has long been used as a recreational zone where various services are provided to the tourists and holidaymakers. At times the offer of the services can become too intrusive, which is why it is highly recommended to make a good and thoughtful choice of the services you would like to buy. Above the gorge, at a distance of 11 km from the beginning of the gorge, there is a non-categorical pass, along which one can pass to the neighboring Semenovsky Gorge. And higher up, 15 km from the beginning of the gorge, there is a beautiful mountain lake (2,355 m above sea level), which is popular among tourists and holidaymakers. The length of the Grigorievsky gorge is roughly 33-34 km.
